Autumn Fungi Collection

I can't believe we're this far into October! The days are receding and the darker evenings ever advancing. Even on a sunny day there's a nip to the air. As I sit in my home office each day and look up to Scawt and Sallagh, I see grey clouds scurrying over the hills, looking much chillier than the fluffy white clouds that have idled their way across blue skies for the last few months. The many shades of green have given way to yellow, red and brown. The woods are calling me, with promises of conkers, shiny damp leaves and, if I'm lucky, rays of golden sunlight peeking through the colourful canopy.

At the time of writing this post, I’m still in the process of moving my shop from Etsy to its brand new forever home (!) on this website. As I also have a full time job, it’s quite time consuming designing the site and shop in the evenings. You may notice more and more products slowly creeping on to the shop here, but I will announce its official opening with a blog post and probably an email newsletter so that you’re completely up to date with exciting developments!

If you’ve been to my Etsy shop, you may have spotted my ‘Hello Autumn’ card. It’s been one of my best selling products, and several customers who bought it suggested that I create more autumnal themed designs, and I am taking that on board!

I wanted to stay away from obvious autumn leaf motifs and look for more unusual and interesting forms. I knew there was a large variety of fungi, but until I started looking up reference books and exploring hashtags on Instagram, I didn't realise there were just SO many beautiful and exotic-looking species even here in Northern Ireland!

In my Autumn Fungi Collection, I have painted individual mushrooms and toadstools and also combined them in a group piece. All seven designs are shown below. The individual mushrooms will be available in A5 size prints, and the group print in both A5 and A4 size. There will also be cards of each design available as a bundle. I hope to add all the products onto both Etsy and the shop here in the next couple of days.
